Ashley Klein

Rehearsal Director/Supervisor

An original member of Exhale Dance Tribe, Ashley acts as Rehearsal Director/ Dance Supervisor for the company. She has studied with Lay-Zimmer and Hubbard for the past 14 years and recently assisted the couple on their World premiere of Peter Frampton LIVE with Cincinnati Ballet. In 2011 Ashley joined the stage as a back up dancer for the band, Over the Rhine with the Tribe. In 2010 Ashley and the Tribe danced for Bootsy Collins. In 2008 you would have found Ashley with Exhale Dance Tribe, enchanting audiences as one of Tatiana’s fairies in Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2007, Klein acted as Associate Choreographer to Missy Lay Zimmer when she received a CEA award for Critical Achievement in Choreography with Know Theater Cincinnati / Exhale Dance Tribe’s Christmas Yet To Come. New York City: Merce Cunningham Studios, ACE Awards in New York City (dancing for Hubbard/Lay-Zimmer), Exhale Dance Tribe and Collex Arts. Originally from Northern Kentucky, Ashley has grown up in the dance world, training with some of today’s finest dance educators: Keith Clifton, Kristin Denehy, Dee Caspary, Andrew Turteltaub and Jennifer Rutherford, just to name a few. Ashley teaches for Planet Dance Cincinnati, Showcase of America and Dance Masters of the Bluegrass. Klein occasionally assists Zimmer and Hubbard on the road with Access Broadway around the U.S. Cincinnati Ballet: Nutcracker. At 19, Ashley won Protégé from the Pulse convention (awarded by Mia Michaels and Brian Friedman). After overcoming and recovering from a severe shoulder injury, Ashley is thrilled to be joining the tribe back on stage and celebrating Exhale’s 10-year anniversary!!
